In the Market Room of the ‘Three Pigeons’ Public House in Guildford, Surrey, a meeting took place between a Local Tobacconist and Fishing Tackle Dealer. Gentlemen Anglers discussed the formation of an Angling Club, and on the 1st May 1883, the First Committee for the ‘The Guildford Angling Society’ was elected.
On the 8th May 1883, the First AGM was held and the Society’s rules were established.
The Guildford Angling Society has over 300 members ranging from 8 years to 80. Whether you're a Competitive Angler, a Newcomer to the sport, or here for fun, then apply for the fishing season.
We organise several competitive matches throughout the Fishing Season for both Senior and Junior Anglers.
